Coordinated 2,500 interviews on the impact of racism in the every day lives of Americans for the James Byrd Jr. Foundation for Racial Healing. Also lecture at numerous schools, religious and community organizations.

Interviewed l400 Holocaust survivors, witnesses, resistance fighters, rescuers and liberators in l700 taping sessions. Trained interviewers and coordinated transcription and indexing of interviews. Published various educational materials and produced community events. Research and development work included devising long term fundraising strategies. Consulted with other genocide and Holocaust oral history projects.

Researcher & Educator of Chiune Sugihara & the 522nd Field Artillery Battalion Co-discovered the story of the Chiune Sugihara, known as the “Japanese Schindler” for his rescue of four thousands Jewish people in the Holocaust. Created media campaign which successfully led to the creation of approximately five hundred articles in major national and international publications. Co discovered the story of the 522nd Field Artillery Battalion, an all-Japanese American unit that played a pivotal role in the liberation of the Dachau complex. Created media campaign which successfully led to the creation of approximately five hundred articles in major national and international publications. Co produced photographic exhibition: “Unlikely Liberators” and “The Remarkable Story of Chiune and Yukiko Sugihara”.

Produced news and documentaries for National Public Radio, California Public Radio, Western Public Radio, and the Australian Broadcasting Commission. Produced numerous documentaries on: ‘Violence Against Women’, the Holocaust and ‘Genocide in the Twentieth Century’. Wrote numerous research and op-ed articles which have been published in Mother Jones, the San Francisco Examiner, the Bay Guardian, Pacific News Service, The Progressive, among others. Wrote a chapter entitled, “Bearing Witness: Reflections on Interviewing Holocaust Survivors” in a book by Ruth Linden, Making Stories, Making Selves. Commentator, KQED Public Radio Show, ‘Perspectives’ Bi-weekly commentator on issues of global and local policy with a focus on issues of the environment and social welfare (1991-1993). Co-Author & Co-Editor, Visas for Life (March l993-l995) Co-edited the memoirs of Yukiko Sugihara’s English language version which was nationally published. Also co-wrote and produced 'A Photographic Catalogue - The Remarkable Story of Chiune Sugihara’ (with Eric Saul) which toured in over a hundred national and international museums and galleries. Executive Producer, Holocaust Oral History Project (l991-1996) Produced weekly television series on survivor interviews which were broadcast on domestic and international cable and public television networks.

Coordinated art exhibition and ten-part lecture series for an audience of 10,000 people. Worked with various diplomats and human rights activists including: Jose Ramos Horta, the Foreign Minister of East Timor and Daniel Elsberg of the Pentagon Papers.
